Dr. Necla Tschirgi is a Senior Policy Advisor serving as a consultant with the Peacebuilding Support Office at the United Nations. From 2001 to 2006, she was the Vice-President of the International Peace Academy. Dr. Tschirgi received her B.A. and M.A. in Political Science from the American University of Beirut, and her Ph.D. in Political Economy from the University of Toronto. Her career spans research, teaching, policy analysis, grantmaking, and research management. Dr. Tschirgi's current research interests lie at the intersection of development and security—with a special focus on post-conflict peacebuilding.
