Madrid, 1 November 2009. Club de Madrid and Coexistence International sign a Memorandum of Understanding to bring Shared Societies Project tools and language to civil society organisations and leaders.
Both organizations share common goals of promoting diversity, interculturalism and social cohesion and recognize that the challenge of managing relations between diverse cultures is of key importance to world stability.
An initial CI seminar in Monrovia Nov. 4-6 to advance reconciliation efforts in Liberia with 20 social leaders, has provided the first opportunity to test this partnership. The Shared Societies Project participation in the seminar has shown the potential to develop project-results-based training material for social leaders that have received project tools as very useful to promote leadership action for shared societies, even in post-conflict situations.
